MOSCOW — A suicide attack on a police checkpoint in Russia’s violence-plagued North Caucasus region on Tuesday killed at least one officer and injured several others, according to Russian news reports. The attack occurred in North Ossetia, a mostly Christian region of the North Caucasus, where violence in recent years has been rare.
